Your Highness Review

So Your Highness was released Friday and it was the funniest film I've seen Since Meet the Spartans. Your Highness is not your average stoner comedy. There are only small parts of getting high in the movie. Your Highness is more of a medieval comedy then a stoner comedy, but still the funniest movie i've seen in 4 years and a must see for anyone looking for a good laugh. Plus as an added bonus you do yet some gore in there. There really is something in this movie for everybody. Note this movie is not for children and i would not recommend talking anyone under the age of 16 to this movie. Your Highness is a 9 out of 10

Gaming Composers Unite

gaming composer Akira Yamaoka(Silent Hill) has teamed up with Play for Japan to create Play for Japan: The Album. The Album will feature numerous game composers including Woody Jackson(Red Dead Redemption), Bear McCreary (Socom 4, The Walking Dead), Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Luminous Arc), and Nobuo Uematsu(Final Fantasy Series). Play for Japan: The Album is excepted to be released in May on iTunes.

Xbox 360 Disc Change

Microsoft has decided that they are going to increase the size of the Xbox 360 Game Disc by 1 GB so now developers will be able to use 7.95GB on a typical dual-layer DVD. This is still over 4 times less then the Blu Ray Discs 33GB Single layer and over 9 times less then a dual-layer Blu Ray 66GB.  It will be interesting to see if Xbox 360 games will have greater visuals etc.

3DS has arrived

That's right folks Nintendo 3DS is here, but how well will it sell? For one Nintendo has announced that the 3DS is region locked which in my view is a very negative thing towards the 3DS and trying to make it a "smash" hit.  Another thing is Nintendo recommends children under 7 not play the 3DS in 3D. This is yet another negative for 3DS sales cause Nintendo targets as early as age 4.  Perhaps the biggest negative is the advertising.  The thing that bring the 3DS to the table is the 3D with no glasses however it difficult to advertise this cause no commercial can show that and people around a 3DS can not see the 3D effects only the person holding the 3DS can see the 3DS. However the 3DS has one thing that the Wii and DS never had at launch a large library for core gamers. the unfortunate side effect of this is most of the games  coming out for the core gamer audience are games that are already out for other consoles. The 3DS retails for $249.99 and games are in the $39.99. Hopefully this wasn't a huge waste of Nintendo's resources, but based on reports that pre orders for the 3DS have surpassed the Wii only time will tell if Nintendo has been about to get back in the black as their profits have been falling since 2008.           

Sucker Punch Review

Zack Snyder has done it again. The director of 300 and Watchman has pulled another Rabbit out of the hat with Sucker Punch. Sucker Punch is a visual master piece and there is something for every nerd out there,  from a Giant Samurai with guns to Nazi Steampunk zombies to a Tribute to The Hobbit and robots and quite a few explosions. the none imagination parts arre very unneeded for the most part, but on the plus side they are short. With that said however those scenes do not ruin the experience and Sucker Punch has an amazing soundtrack is the best movie of 2011 so far. Definitely recommend checking out Sucker Punch. Sucker Punch get a 9.7/10      

Resident Evil Reunion

Capcom announced today that HD remakes of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code Veronica will be released for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. No word yet as to when Capcom plans to release the games and wether the games will be on disk or downloadable.  Expect Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code Veronica HD to be released some time later this year.  

Killzone 2 Classic Review

Introducing Classic Reviews here on the Gamers Blog of Awesomeness, but what does that mean? A Classic Review in my case is a game I have replayed and beat.  So with out further delay here is my Classic Review of Killzone 2.

Killzone 2 was an amazing game graphically and even after 2 years the graphics still hold up.  the animation is some of the best I've seen and the multiplayer is solid and still the one of two FPS Multiplayer I play. that being said however I have yet to Play Killzone 3 outside of the beta. Killzone 2's story shows that not everything goes according to plan and that sometimes the odds are indeed not in your favor. If you have Killzone 3 and have not tried 2 i would highly recommend you check it out.  The only issue with the Killzone 2 is that the game is quite dark in terms of the environments, but all in all Killzone 2 is a fantastic experience. Killzone 2 get 9.8 out of 10              

Mortal Kombat vs Australia FIGHT

As you may or may not have heard Mortal Kombat has been banned in the land down under, but WB Games is determined to get the uncensored game released in Australia. Australia has the most strict laws when it comes to video games so it will be interesting to see if Mortal Kombat will get passed the Aussie censors. Heres hopeing they do.

DC Universe Online Review

The next legend is you is the slogan to DC Universe and this game delivers on all fronts from the deep characters customizations to the beautiful landscapes from Gotham City to the Hall of Doom.  DC Universe is insanely fun and a fantastic MMO. The controllers are tight and are complicated at all and the gameplay is solid definitely an MMO any one can play and not be confused. DC Universe cross between the Marvel Ultimate alliance and World of Warcraft only it takes the best of those games and becomes the best MMO I've ever played and a fantastic and fun experience all around from level 1 to level 30  DC Universe gets a 10 out of 10    

Get the Gears Rolling

The Gears of War 3 beta is expecting to start up in April. The game was initially set for fall 2010, but was delayed till April 2011, but Microsoft delayed the game once again till fall 2011. Gears of War 3 is now set to hit stores on September 20 2011.  so get ready to kill some locust scum or see the human race destroyed in end to the Epic Trilogy that is Gears of War

That's right ladies and gentleman the Legend of Zelda has Turned 25 today. 25 Years of gathering the Triforce. 25 years of saving the princess and 25 years of protecting the land of Hyrule.  Let us keep continuing fighting the fight saving the land of Hyrule and saving Zelda.  and remember the first time you heard the overworld theme now go forth and play a Zelda game and remember the good times.  

Halo toys are a coming

That's right Mcfarlane Toys are now unrestricted in what they can do with the Halo franchise now after success with toys based on Halo 3 and Halo Reach. Now Microsoft is allowing Mcfarlane Toys to do toys based on Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3 ODST and Halo Wars as well as continuing with Halo 3 and Reach. I for one cannot wait for to see what Mcfarlane Toys does with toys based on Halo and Halo 2 my favorite games of the series.  Mcfarlane toys has some of the best detailed toys. I'll keep you posted on the release date for the new toy lineup.  

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Review

11 Years have passed and it is time to grow your curly mustache, and take your opponent for a ride cause Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is finally here. With a roster of 36 and 2 dlc characters coming March 15th Marvel vs Capcom 3 offers a lot of options for your team. The Game is fast so the action is intense and the characters are well balanced characters with low health are fast and can hit with heavy combos where characters with large health are slow and can't do heavy combos.  Marvel vs Capcom 3 is visually stunning and colorful  the game is also addictive and hard to put down. Marvel Vs Capcoms multiplayer is while put together how ever there is no save footage feature so uploading your great victory or most deviating defeat. Marvel vs Capcom 3 will be a stable in the fighting game world for years to come.  Capcom has made yet another smash hit fighting game Marvel vs Capcom 3 get 10 out of 10

PSP2 is here well announced anyway

That right the PSP2 has was announced yesterday Sony released the spec and showed off Uncharted on the system and Hideo Kojima showed what looked like Metal Gear Solid 4 running on the PSP2 aka NGP. The PSP2 will be able to play PSP titles that are available via download and the PSP will have Trophy Support. The PSP is set to be released Holiday 2011 and no price has been set Sony says analist say between $300 and $350  here are the specs for the psp2

Scott Pilgrim VS the World Blu Ray Review

Scott Pilgrim VS the World is an awesome tribute to video games, music, comics and Canada. the Blu Ray package comes with a dvd copy of the movie and the movie on blu ray plus a digital copy of the film and is loaded with special features from music videos to outtakes and commentary deleted scenes. There are well over 30 hours with of special features. The movie never gets old you can watch it over and over again. The movie also shows you don't need 3D to be a good film. Scott Pilgrim VS the world is a must buy it is a movie purchase you will not regret. Scott Pilgrim is a 10/10          

Finish Him This Spring

That's right this Spring you will be able to brutally kill your opponents. April 19th mark the release of Mortal Kombat the 9th game in the Fighting game Franchise in story line terms. The game will feature 27 characters on it's release followed by DLC so far Sub Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, Shao Khan, Kitana, Mileena, Sektor, Cyrax, Jade, Jax, Kung Lao and Johnny Cage have been confirmed as playable characters with Kratos from God of War has been Confirmed as DLC for the PS3 version the code will be in the games case Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon has said it is unlikely there will be an Xbox 360 exclusive character at launch. Epic Games Lead Game Designer Cliff Bleszinski said Carmine from the Gears of War series could be used as the Xbox 360 exclusive. Goro has also been confirmed, but as a boss character Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon is unsure if he will playable or not. I'll keep you posted as things further develop only Eighty eight days till we can Finish Him/Her again. Mortal Kombat is Rated M.         

Tron Legacy Review

Well it was that time of year the time of year when i go to the movies and Tron Legacy was nice I saw it 3 times. Tron Legacy is a fantastic movie a lot better then Avatar which i will not get into how much i hate that movie. Back to Tron you do not need to see the original Tron to understand what's going on because the movie explains everything quite well. Jeff Bridges Repises his roles as Kevin Flynn and C.L.U and Bruce Boxleitner repises his roles as Alan Bradley and Tron. Overall the Music is fantastic Daft Punk did a great job the performances were excellent and the story was well told and easy to follow. However in Imax it is rather not enjoyable you can easily see ghosting and pixels it was rather a terrible experiance, but you can still enjoy the movie if can get past these things.  Tron Legacy is a must see 10/10 in Real3D and 2D 8/10 in Imax
